Deeside College’s Centre for Aerospace Training is based at Connah’s Quay in Flintshire.
Through our partnership with Barry College we are a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Approved Training Provider for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Training & Development Programmes.
The Welsh Assembly Government has provided Deeside College with financial support to enable investment in aircraft maintenance equipment and training facilities which support aerospace manufacturing and maintenance businesses across Wales and the UK.
Deeside College now has EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) Part 147 approval from the Civil Aviation Authority as a satellite centre of Barry College to run training programmes towards the EASA Part 66 accreditation, which licensed engineers must have in order to carry out aircraft maintenance and ‘continuing airworthiness’ checks on aircraft.
By working in partnership with Barry College, we have been able to develop a range of training and development programmes for employees working on the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft.
We can offer you a range of aircraft engineering courses. Please select a course for more information or download our course leaflet (pdf).
Our Facilities
Whilst studying our aircraft engineering courses you will have access to our fully equipped workshops containing avionic testing and maintenance equipment. This will ensure our apprentices, students and trainees gain substantial practical skills and understanding of aero-engineering. Our facilities include: Cessna 340, 6 seater business twin aircraft, Jet Provost Mark 5 Training Aircraft, fully functional Airbus A320 passenger aircraft wing.
Our students are able to gain practical skills and experience in the repair and maintenance of aircraft hydraulic systems, whilst working on ‘live’, fully functional aircraft.
